Looking for a fabulous golf course in the spectacular north Lake Tahoe region, far from the traffic and wait times of South Shore? With picture-postcard views from every tee, Nakoma’s 18-hole championship course, the Dragon, never disappoints. While you stop to savor the serene mountain vistas, don’t forget you are playing on a course that debuted as one of America’s Top 75 according to Golf World. Designed by Robin Nelson, who also designed the famous Dunes at Mauna Lani on the Big Island of Hawaii, this is a course you won’t soon forget.
Just like you, we don’t stand still. We’ve worked with top golf professionals to re-engineer our Dragon golf course to provide you with an experience that is unique, beautiful and enduringly playable. Little wonder it is recognized by the Audubon Society for its sensitivity to the natural environment.
The Dragon is challenging, yet enjoyable and sits lightly on the land that we call home. Conveniently located 45 minutes north of Truckee, this is without question the most desirable public course in the area. So, what are you waiting for? Reserve a tee time today.
We’re anything but stuffy, but we do like to maintain the game’s traditions. So please wear a collared shirt — traditional cotton, microfiber or polyester will do. It can get warm up here, so cotton shorts that extend to the knee with a pleated or flat front are fine with us. In the cooler months, keep long golf pants to cotton or a water-resistant material. It’s unfair, we know, but women get to wear long trousers, capris, dress shorts and golf skirts/skorts. Here’s what to leave in your suitcase: cutoff jeans and workout, running or basketball shorts.
