Music in the Wigwam: Tyler Stafford
5:00pm - 8:00pm
Named “Reno’s Best Songwriter 2013″ Tyler Stafford has quickly become a staple in the Northern Nevada music scene. A homegrown talent, the 30 year old has played some of the biggest stages that Reno has to offer and has cultivated a loyal following that can’t get enough of his dynamic performances. His songs often draw comparisons to songwriters such as John Mayer and Paul Simon delivered with a candor and immediacy reminiscent of John Lennon.
Stafford, who considers himself a writer first and foremost, picked up the guitar at the age of 17 and started composing original material at the age of 22. “The music I write is highly reflective of the Human Experience in that it evokes emotion and projects my perceptions and perspectives in a very real way.” He says “[It also] challenges the listener to come along with me for the ride.” The Reno native is heavily influenced by world travel and culture, but doesn’t fail to mention that some of his biggest influences have come from the scene where he has developed his craft in performing. “Kate Cotter, Dave Berry, Eric Andersen, the list goes on. The talent that you find in a diverse community like Reno is really pretty amazing.”
