Getting to Nakoma

From Sacramento/Bay Area

1. Take Interstate 80 East past the Central Truckee exit to Exit 188B (Hwy 89 North/Sierraville and Hwy 267 South/Lake Tahoe).

2. At the end of the off-ramp, turn left onto Highway 89 north.

3. Proceed north through the next stop light and the two round-abouts continuing on Hwy 89 for approximately 22 miles.

4. In Sierraville, turn left at the T-intersection to remain on Hwy 49/89.

5. Proceed approximately 5 miles and turn right on Hwy 89 to Graeagle/Quincy.

6. Proceed approximately 15 miles and turn right onto County Hwy-A15, Portola-McLears Rd.

7. Proceed approximately 3 1/2 miles:

For the Lodge at Nakoma, turn left on Village Trail.

For the Clubhouse, turn right on Bear Run and proceed up the hill  approximately 1/4 mile.

Alternate Winter Route from Sacramento/Bay Area in case of snow on Donner Pass (*route not featured on a map on the right):

1. Take I-80 to I-5 North

2. Follow I-5 north until the split with Hwy 99. Take Hwy 99 North.

3. Follow Hwy 99 North until it splits with Hwy 70. Take Hwy 70.

4. Follow Hwy 70 through Yuba City and Oroville, into the Feather River Canyon.

5. Approximately 25 miles east of Quincy, turn Right (south) on Hwy 89.

6. Approximately 5 miles further, turn Left (east) on Portola-McClear’s Rd (A-15).

7. Proceed approximately 3 1/2 miles:

For the Lodge at Nakoma, turn left on Village Trail.

For the Clubhouse, turn right on Bear Run and proceed up the hill  approximately 1/4 mile.

From Reno

1. Take Interstate Hwy 395 North out of Reno approximately 20 miles.

2. Take the Hwy 70  exit (Exit 8) toward Portola/Quincy.

3. Travel west on highway 70 about 25 miles into the town of Portola.

4. Turn left at the light (Gulling Street).

5. Turn right onto Commercial Street, immediately after the bridge.

6. Proceed two blocks to the end of Commercial Street and take the softer left onto Pacific Street.

7. Proceed 2 blocks and turn right on 3rd Ave.

8. 3rd Ave becomes  Portola-McLears Rd/A-15.

9. Continue approximately 4 miles on A-15.

For the Lodge at Nakoma, turn right on Village Trail.

For the Clubhouse, turn left on Bear Run and proceed up the hill  approximately one-quarter mile.
