Nakoma Resort in Northern California’s Lost Sierra is surrounded by a vast landscape of mountains and forests that could cover the state of Rhode Island—and then some. The resort’s new Adventure Concierge service will help guests confidently navigate that sprawling outdoor paradise’s hiking and mountain bike trails, hundreds of lakes, miles of river and more.
Located 45 minutes north of the hustle and bustle of Lake Tahoe, Nakoma Resort is a refined adventure basecamp. Enjoy outdoor recreation by day such as world-class mountain biking or hiking a section of the famed Pacific Crest Trail. At night, wine and dine in the awe-inspiring Frank Lloyd Wright-designed clubhouse before resting in comfort at the mountain-modern Lodge at Nakoma.
In the morning, Nakoma guests can set out on a new adventure with the guidance of our Adventure Concierge. The service offers a knowledgeable expert to discuss options based on guests’ abilities and interests. A custom itinerary is developed that can include multi-day and multi-sport adventures in the Lost Sierra. Equipment is arranged by the Adventure Concierge and the service is provided free of charge to resort guests. Equipment rental is offered at an additional charge.
Summer activities include hiking, trail running, road cycling and mountain biking, kayaking, rafting, fishing or swimming in one of the 20-plus alpine lakes in the Gold Lakes Basin. When the snow falls, excursions include backcountry and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, winter fat biking and snowmobiling.
For group meetings taking place at the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed resort clubhouse and new Lodge at Nakoma, the Adventure Concierge service is also great for corporate team building outings.
